For what it’s worth, the real hotdog place that the one in the movie is loosely based on… is most definitely managed to not become a Starbucks. (There is now a Starbucks a block from the high school though.) Other than expanding the seating area, Yesterdog hasn’t changed since Adam Herz’s high school days, so that part’s realistic.
